W is series designation, trucks from '41 to '48. '39 and '40 used V

C relates to GVW ie half ton truck. F would be a 1-1/2 ton, D a one ton, H a two ton.

VC= '39 or '40 1/2 ton
VF= '39 or '40 1.5 ton
WF= '41 to '47 1.5 ton

etc
