I got the master cylinder out w/ my die grinder, named Earl. Nothing can stop the Duke of Earl.
But how about the front drums? This is a 57 Power Giant W200 4x4 w/ a Dana 44 3000 lb 6-lug axle. The front and rear hubs both have a diamond pattern on them.
I've got both the K and L series manuals, and I'm positive neither covers this particular drum situation. Admittedly, I'm new to trucks; maybe getting the drums off is so obvious the guys who wrote the manual didn't bother.
Anyway, the front hubs are held on w/ about ten bolts, but I don't see any holes for jacking bolts like in the back. Member suggestions would be most appreciated.
I guess in the rear (duals in back), you use the jacking bolts until the drive flange + axle shaft come out w/ a pint or two of gear oil. Is that right?
Thanks very much in advance.
