Good point. My in-laws had an RV business and there service manager swore by POR for the retractable steps. They never painted over it because they said the paint would flake off due to the impervious service of the POR and besides the steps on an RV were out of the sun when retracted. This took place about 15 yrs ago. So I did my own little test. I found out about 3yrs ago at a swap meet, from a POR rep that any ppaint over POR has to be applied while it is still tacky for the paint to stick. I frankly don't remember if that was on the can instruction at the time
