I installed a tank out of a mid '90s Chevy truck in my WDX. I had to move the forward support bracket toward the cab a couple of inches, and make new straps. It's much farther from original than yours would be, but it works. I would think you could do something similar and it would look fine. Especially after the bed covers it all up. JH
