There are some that were made for in tank, with carbs. Pressure and volume would probably suffice without relief or return systems. My 86 F150 comes to mind. You would need a tank that takes the pump/sender, and a gauge that would work with the sender.
Otherwise, get a mechanical pump that is easily rebuildable, and some good sheet rubber. The diaprhagm I made from Buna-N is about three years old now.
