Yup...ain't that the truth. Even just my minor injuries...you take it for granted that you'll be able to get up in the morning & carry on like normal but at some point in life...it doesn't work as you'd planned.
For me this time, it'll hopefully all be back to normal in a couple more months but i guess at some point, old age always wins.
It's always a little more sad when it catches up too early...as in the case of your friend.
Hopefully he can hang in there & enjoy a few more good years.
