The gear spacing on the Mack 5x4 is different and My trans as well as the trans in the GMC/Diamond T videos are three speed auxillary transmissions not four like the Mack has. The Mack 5x4 was notorious for having to reach through the steering wheel to make a combo shift at times. Try eating a burger, talking on the cell phone or CB, shifting gears while making a turn. I spilled many a lunch on the floor back in the day when I worked on those old Macks.
