More on the M-37 non-start problem

Confirmed no fuel. I removed the in-line filter and with a squirt bottle, injected gas into the carb intake line, and it started immediately. I also connected a rubber gas line to the line coming from the pump, and no gas comes out.

Re the tank, does gas come out of the tank from a fixed outlet or from a float?

There is an inline gas shut off valve just before the pump, the rubber hose there looks old so maybe I will start there.

Any better ideas?
