For all the complaints a Liberty still had a solid rear axle and a two speed transfer case. My wife had an 02 and it did pretty well offroad for what it was. Sounds like it will be replaced by a jacked up front wheel drive with rear wheel assist CAR. Jeep should leave cars to the car makers and build real SUVs now that no one else does, I am pretty sure the wrangler outsells all other jeeps combined. We own an 08 Wrangler unlimited rubicon and I like it okay but if jeep had built a grand cheroke or a libery on the wrangler full frame and installed a hemi I would have paid 10 grand more happily.
