To save headaches down the road I will share a recent experience with my firewall mounted clutch cylinder. After 13 yrs and about 60000 miles the firewall cracked leaving me with no clutch. A fender washer got it mobile again until I can make a permanent repair. Mine was mounted with in a inch of hood line near the core support brace mounting which I figured was strong enough. You may consider this if you plan on a lot of miles.
