The ZF S5-42 comes in two versions ie, Gas and Diesel. The Diesel version does have better gear splits and a external clutch slave. THe Gas version has a internal clutch slave.
If your using the Ford/Cummins flywheel housing, look at the top 2 horizontal holes.
The spacing is 6.125" which will match up to the Gas Version ZF S5-42. The Diesel version top hole spacing is 7.750" and WILL NOT bolt up to a Ford/Cummins flywheel housing adapter.
Just passing some info so you dont get the wrong ZF S5-42 and not have it match your Ford/Cummins Adapter.
I have also read and have no personal knowledge, but its said that the favorable diesel gears will fit perfectly in a Gas Case . But check this out before you fly with it......I do not know its true.
