Swapping in a replacement engine is a fairly easy project. Yes, you'll likely pay more for the engine than you did the truck. Regardless of year/engine, there are plenty of used F150 engines out there, waiting to be used again.
Why did that cylinder hydrolock? Head gasket coolant leak? Fuel from a stuck open injector? First cyl to lock from ingesting some water?
