Yes, I have driven the truck and it seems to drive well.
Your thinking is pretty much what I have been thinking. Not much to lose trying to put the keepers on as long as the valve stems haven't been damaged.
On the other hand, it wouldn't be too difficult to pull the head as I have the front end off the truck off and I already have a head gasket. I just wonder if it is necessary. Decisions, decisions.
Are the keepers the same for the 230 and 251 engines?
