Not sure if that's a dog thing or a people thing, but they do require less exercise as they get older and we get used to each other. We have working Border Collie and working Kelpie pups just 18 months, so they need lots of running and play as they mature. I'm finally starting to get some weight on my Kelpie as he's maturing and approaching his full height. He measures 550mm at the shoulder now, so fairly big for a Kelpie, very clever and lots of fun - not bad herding either..
