In Chicago, 15 murders and 500 armed robberies per 100,000 people in 2010. In Idaho, 1.5 murders and 16 robberies per 100,000 people in 2009.
Idaho has no gun control beyond federal law. Chicago has about the tightest gun control in the country, and has 10 times as high a murder rate and 30 times as high a robbery rate.
