I needed two sets. After measuring the old gears and doing the gear calculations, I realized that two pairs could be cut out of one stock industrial gear. $12 on eBay got me a gear with 1" of gears, delivered. Parting tool an the lathe, and a bit of Tig welding. I turned the $30 regulator with bad gears into a $150 "Rebuilt Regulator", with gears that are 60% thicker, and made of better metal than the OE spongy ones.
The gear is 12 dp x 13 teeth. You need to disassemble the regulator completely, a lathe with parting tool, and be able to tig or braze the gears to the shafts.
Actually I was expecting a gear only 3/4", to cut into one set that would be about 5/16" each. Super-extra-heavy-duty, but overkill, especially when the other truck has a feed problem. So I split the heavier gear into 4, each about .170", instead of the stock .105".
