If what Steve says is true, it wouldn't hurt my feelings. Sandpoint was a ghost town in 1971 when we moved here, and we loved it. Then, everyone from all over discovered the place and move here, making it a crowded, prosperous little town.Of course, more prosperity, has allowed for increased property values and taxes, which, in turn, is driving a lot of people out of their nice homes, because they now can't handle the taxes on top of the cost of living on fixed incomes.
Anyway, I think David is right. People will still come to Sandpoint, because it is a destination town. At least the big trucks, passing through to and from Canada, will, for the most part, be diverted.
