Frost Plug?

It was time to replace the one leaking frost plug in my block. I removed it and cleaned the block area.

Now for a stupid question, does the plug insert with the convex side out or facing into the block? All the videos I have seen on replacing plugs show the convex side into the block, but I'm sure mine was the opposite. Also all the videos I've seen show plugs with a lip on the edge. This block has a lip as shown in the pic.

I just don't want to put it in backwards. :)
