I am using my 48 to haul hay around our farm and to make deliveries. I have a suspicion that the tranny needs new bearings, but maybe you can help me. Going down hill under neutral throttle I get quite the whirring sound from the tranny, I thought is was the front diff drive axle so I replaced it, but that did not fix the problem so I am back to thinking it is the bearings. I took a load of hay to a local farm and the poor old girl seemed to grind in third gear no matter what speed I was doing so I slacked off on the throttle do save her suffering any more agony. 1st, 2nd, and 4th seem not to bad at all.
Any suggestions.
