I don't understand all this reliance on the frame number.I have owned Power Wagons that you couldn't read all the frame numbers or they had steel plates that were welded over the
frame numbers.I drove tractor trailers for twenty five years and went through my fair share of D.O.T. inspections.They always used the metal VIN plate on the door jam when writing up their reports.The same for trailers,
metal manufactures VIN plate.
