Finally got my key set back from the locksmith with new keys. Re-installed it and the battery. Turned the key to see if I had any movement in the gauges, MOVEMENT!
I turned the engine over a few times without the plugs in to get the oil pressure up since I haven't done so in a few weeks. Then installed new plugs, poured a little gas into the carb and she started right up. Of course, it only ran for 5 to 10 seconds, but she sounded good! I repeated this 5 times this morning. Only a little bit of smoke so far and no weird noises.
Now I have to acquire a mechanical fuel pump, my electric one isn't working, lol. I would like to restore it to original anyway. This will allow me to suck out of a gas can so I can run it longer until I get the gas tank fixed.
Still working on the cooling system, getting the D tube out of the block, almost there. I will be replacing it this week. Also, have the radiator being re-cored and a new water pump. Once the tube is out I can better determine if this block will have to be rebuilt or not. It looks pretty clean so far but we'll see...
