The key to his question?? was he old enough to have served in WWII ? if not, take into consideration that he wasn't there and would therefore not have a first hand expereince with such. maybe he had at some point seen some pictures of the WWII dodges in the winter in france in the mud chained together bumper to bumper(about six to seven feet) I have seen some of those pictures.
