1 3/16" for the small plug. 1 5/8" for the big plug. Change all if you do one. Flush the block with the plugs out and you will get a lot of dirt and corrosion out. The job's several times easier with the fender off.
NAPA has them. You may have to order a dozen, but they are fairly cheap. Steel is good enough. NAPA can even order stainless steel plugs.
Wait until you get the engine running decently or you could be throwing good money after bad.
