My black Jeep has Dana 44s with 3.54 gears and ARBs front and rear. It is seen here with the gas 360 gasping for air near Mt. Antero's 14,269' summit. After 220,000 miles and lots of abuse, I've only broken one front axle at the U-joint. That never would have happened without the Air lockers engaged and abusing it on a hill.
The maroon Jeep has Dana 44s and stock 2.73 gears. Those gears and a TH475 are a great combination for dirvability. I'm building a 700R4 to go behind a 4bt inteh black jeep, becuase of the 3.54 gears, but the 3 speed is great with tall gears.
I hope to get up the Arkansas River Valley again this summer, but we won't have much time to off-road on this trip.
