Bittersweet for me. Dad went in a nursing home in Dec with dementia and other health issues. I'm fortunate that when I call him 3X/week he still remembers me and my son. Called him today to wish him Happy Fathers Day and he understood. He usually only talks for about 2-3 minutes, and most of the time I have no idea what he's talking about, but he's still my great dad.
This afternoon my son, his wife, and my grandson will come over for dinner and wish dad was here with us. Still trying to move him up here, and he's been #1 on the nursing home wait list since Jan., but a bed has not come open. Can't wait until he's up here where be belongs.
Good thoughts to all the dads out there.
