Yes, the early frames had bolt on windshield brackets left and right. when I purchased my WC-12 serial#8682297 it had the frame with the bolt on brackets. In 1995 I bought a spare NOS frame from VPW. This one had the brackets welded to the windshield frame. My Dodge SNL G-657 Master parts book only lists the frame with the bolt on windshield brackets. I have heard the book was printed in 1943, so maybe the change from bolt on to welded on occurred after the printing of the book.
