The 5600 had the same first and fifth gear ratios as the 4500, it just added an extra gear in between. The stock NV4500 had a pretty big gap between third and fourth IIRC, so it could be tough to find the right gear for the short rev range of the diesels, especially with a heavier load.
Big downside was they are even bigger and heavier than the NV4500, and can be even more difficult to come by.
