Gooseneck for us. They can handle gravel and dirt roads better than fifth wheels. The connection will flex a little for uneven surfaces. That's why they're used in ag.
Like Marty said, some are even rated for 30K.
I have a hidden hitch in one of my trucks. The ball pivots down under the bed floor when not in use, so I have a flat floor when I need it.
