ATF has excellent lubricating and penetrating qualities. Mixed with kerosene or diesel it makes an inexpensive penetrating oil so is ideal when you need it in quantity. Everyone has their favorite brand name stuff, but, IMO, ATF/Kerosene is as good as anything out there aside from Kroil.
