There's something to be said for using a solenoid contactor so that the high-current wires can be short. I don't know what his spaced constraints are, but if it's a retrofit situation, routing several 2/0 or 4/0 wires to a convenient location for the disconnect switch might be tough. I'm a little unsure about the "latching" provision. I would want one that I could manually force to the "on" position in case the latch fails to unlatch for whatever reason.
