I agree with Rob, any attempt at repairing the pitted surface will just cause other problems. Polish the surface so it won't tear the seal and forget about it. Devcon or other epoxies will fail and welding or brazing are definately a no no on axles. The
only alternative you have is to replace the
axle if you want a perfect surface. A speedy sleeve won't help here.
