Hi Russ,
I had the opportunity (bad luck?) to rent two different Dodge Rams with 360 V-8's.
One was a 2000 2WD Quad Cab which over 3,000 miles averaged an honest 17 mpg which made me very happy! The other Ram was a 2001 2WD Quad Cab which over 1100 miles, averaged an honest (at 70 mph on the freeway) 20.7 mpg! I was amazed! I suspect that the EFI, computerized fuel management systems, tall gears (both trucks really got up and moved though) and radial tires makes a huge difference compared to our Power Wagons (duh) But it was interesting to see what these engines are capable of when set up right.
