The major gifference in the ride characteristics between clois and leafs is that theres no friction in a coil spring.Teflon isn't jist for quiet, it will make for a much smoother ride. The 1/2t ambulances (I don't know about the 3/4) had leaves wrapped in sheetmetal with a burlap liner underneath, soaked in oil. try lubing yours by using a cold chisle between leafs and a needl fitting on the grease gun, see if it helps.Plastic supplies sell sheet teflon, about $10 sq/ft?
