You can now buy 7 Garands a year from the CMP. You can buy 5 Service grade M-1s at $500 each. Service grade is a average rifle in service condition.
you can also buy 2 Danish garands at $400. These M-1s were turned over to the Danish after WWII ended. As the years went by they could be repaired with Danish or Italian parts. The danish M-1, I ordered last year was 98% WWII parts!
This new program at CMP is GREAT!! You DO NOT have to shot a compation match any more if you were in the military. All you need is a copy of your DD214.
I have got 6 Garands from the CMP, VERY HAPPY MARINE.
