Thats the residual check valve seal. Without it the rsidual valve won't seal.The residual pressure (very low. mavbe 10psi?) is to keep the cups in the wheel cylinders expanded so air don't seep in/fluid out of wheel cyls.I suppose lots of guys don't run it,probly ok long as you drive it regularly?
