As you say, not a lot more difficult than many modern cars - beaut job, but certainly squeezy though. You know, some early vehicles had a removable panel let into the inner fender for similar reasons, often held by 2 dzus fasteners or similar. Just take off the wheel and undo 2 screws for easy access.
