If you run 8.25-20 tires its about the same as if you were running 1100-16 Michelins. So it's fine.
Just keep your brakes adjusted tight and well, we all know the 230 is not really a performance engine no matter what you do to it. The 251 or 265 is a different story as you can wind them up pretty good through the gears to get up to speed.
