I'm sure you could. I ran a pto off the off the rear for a sawmill. I attached angle iron with a pillow block to the center frame and another to the rear frame just below the hitch. I don't see why it can't be moved to the side. I used 2 pieces of 1 1/8 round stock with keyways cut in. It be better to use the rear adapter from a ford n tractoron the end. Cut a lot of wood and it worked great, just a pain pulling the shaft off the end.
