Yes you do need a relay. I have one on my Command Car. 12 volt. But it does draw some juice. Even 6 volt. I used a starter solenoid for my Siren. The Cable that feeds it is the size of a battery cable. Loud Very Loud. Its Great. Have Fun Bill.
