I mocked one up in my '49 power wagon. I used Ray's Helitool smallblock trans mounts to bolt the poly bell to the slant 6. I made my own front mounts and the front crossmember needs to be notched for the timing chain cover to clear. The biggest hassle is with the poly bell the slant 6 used a front sump oil pan, and you need a rear sump to fit in the power wagon. With the rear sump pan the starter will not clear and I had to cut the side of the pan and put in a "relief" for the starter to fit. With the poly bell the starter (direct drive)is in a lower position than when in a car or a mechanical linkage bell housing. The factory slant 6 M601 used a bellhousing with mechanical linkage, rear sump, and gear reduction starter. I used the poly bell in case I decide to put in a small block later.
