Why does this matter ? I have been grinding and dropping valves in heads for years and never had an issue . used to have a huge box of spares and i would pick the best ones that fit a particular guide . Now lifters are a different issue , mix them up and you will have problems . running new lifters on an old cam does not work very often either - seems to scrub the cam more often than not .
