Yes I was just about to suggest the shear pin theory for those who drive or overload or stress equipment far beyond it's intended limit. But years ago we had a 1978 Pontiac Parisienne with the 305 motor. ("Black Moira") My wife twisted off an axle at a stop sign. Normal acceleration she declares. "OK" Is it a possibility that some are made weak or flawed from day one?
