That's neat that you have little shops where you can get things built and rebuilt cheaply. There was a time when it was like that in this country, but no longer. It used to be any garage could do a valve grind and ring job, every automotive district had a radiator shop and an auto electric shop, and every gas station had a mechanic who could at least change a starter or adjust a carburetor. Nowadays there's maybe one radiator shop and one auto electric shop every 500 miles, and the prices are so high that it's cheaper to buy a new one or one rebuilt in Mexico if it's available. It's even getting hard to find a basic automotive machine shop.
