Yes the front pinion bearings were in rough shape when I did a closer inspection. The rear bearings had been replaced at some point in the trucks life and other than some light surface rust on the cage from sitting static for so many years were pristine. So they were re-used.
I have thought long and hard on it but between the lock-out hubs and the little bit of off-roading I will probably do, even if they have less than 1/2 their original life left they should last a long time.
