I am thinking about fabricating the always missing bead lock ring that was in the origianl comabet wheel but making it wide enough for radial tires. the old bias tires had a bread more than twice the height and depth of a radial. they dont look like they would be too tough to make. I hear about modern bead lock rims breaking bolts and such. with the combat wheel with the right ring inside I think would be the best set up. one advantage to tubes is the bead cant get pushed so hard the air escapes. I have seen that happen on the trail to other rigs a few times. I have jammed my tires so far that you could see inside the rim. should have got a pic of that day. I was very stick. but never got a flat! anything else would have failed.
