Tough call, but body of the thing is steel, I think it will probably come out without breaking. A bit of heat from a torch wouldn't hurt. There sure seem to have been a lot of different styles of temp senders used on 230s, and different diameters of holes. Be tough to get penetrating oil in there much, unless you're pulling the head anyway and can get at it from the inside. For what it's worth, I've dealt with a few of them, though not just like yours, and haven't had one break off yet.
