There are (at least) 2 different types, one is mounted lower and across the front of the engine and the other mounts like a civvy Dodge pump and is positioned higher. The low mounted one (as found on the M601 with 251 engine puts the fan about 2" closer to the front of the vehicle and also lowers the position of the fan so it's more central to the radiator.
