Most of the GI stuff had knobs and links on each side. The two holes in the top center of the dash are embossed but not drilled. And there is a rectangular slot in the top of the dash for a lock knob on the frame.

The GI frames have more screw holes in the ends to attach the knob plates.

I think the side knobs system was supposed to be more rugged. But if you bounced and one was loose, the windshield cracked.

Somebody here put an electric actuator from Mercedes headlight in. I may do that instead of dropping the $125-150 for a OE regulator. Unless he elctrified the stock one, which wouldn't save $$$$
