I use an "unlit" propane torch set on low sometimes to avoid getting the fresh paint on an engine messed up. This might work, but then sometimes it isn't enough, and I will grab the can of carb cleaner. I don't think WD40 is flamable enough anymore do to the wonderful EPA restrictions.
