I just read an article on how with the loses of the MB Sprinter van line, "ram" will be introducing a minivan based and a Fiat Ducato versions to fill the hole. However rather than the minivan unit being a Dodge or Chrysler, it will be a ram.
How stupid are the marketing kids at Chrysler? OK, I can kind of see the public's inability in today's society of not understanding the difference between "Dodge Trucks" and "Dodge" brands, but after killing off "Plymouth", why could they not bring it back for the cars, or revive "DeSoto" or "Fargo"?
Yea, I know what's a Charger if it's not a Dodge, but what's a truck, van or SUV if it's not a Dodge as well?
I have no intentions of ever buying a ram branded anything, and doubt that with all the government/epa/nhtsa crap that has been added to our vehicles I'll probably never buy a new modern vehicle again either.
ferd and government motors have their issues as well.. Look at the death of the Ranger, they refuse to being the world version of the Ranger , or even the Australian Falcon UTE to the us because they don't want to take away from the "F-Series" sales. Hell, call it an F-100 or F-50 and they could count it an an F-Series just like the call the Super Duty an F-Series when it's completely different than an F-150. But oh, don't let GM add the Cheby and GMC sales of identical trucks together to out sell them.
UGH!, Sorry for the Rang, but what has the world come to?
